Hello!
I'm Steve Chow, a Graphic Designer based in Vancouver, Canada.
For someone who fell into design, I’ve been truly fortunate to work with awesome organizations and people, including the Vancouver International Film Festival, the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, DOXA Documentary Film Festival, the Criterion Collection and Janus Films (New York), Vancouver New Music, the National Film Board of Canada, levelFILM (Toronto), Passion Pictures (London), and the University of British Columbia. Collaborating with inspired art directors, talented film programmers and whip-smart marketing specialists — along with independent filmmakers like Sophie Jarvis, Joella Cabalu, Marv Newland, Charles Wilkinson, Chris Chong Chan Fui and Joon Han Yeo — has been exceptionally rewarding.
For ten years as the Communications Manager of The Cinematheque, I produced 60 issues of the program guide magazine, 100s of advertising and promotional pieces, and dozens of posters. I was lead publicist for live events with Crispin Glover and Peter Greenaway; popular series like Studio Ghibli, Film Noir, the European Union Film Festival, Samurai, and The Cremaster Cycle; and many director retrospectives, including Godard, Kurosawa, Ozu, Antonioni, and Fellini.
